It was a rainy day... We were traveling through the city but that night it was all dark and grey. In search for some color or reflections I found more then I had hoped for... Lots of dynamic colors to make the scene complete. Although I have a clear shot of the model Gwen, this image appealed to me because of the motion blur around her legs and arms. It was my first shoot to combine ambient light with a slow shutter speed and a fill in strobe for the model. A slow-sinc setting with the a-priory mode. I used the water reflection for color and composition reasons and the car lights as well. Not sure about the fireworks, that has been added in pp. It was a rainy night, but Gwen proved to be a true professional model. It was loads of fun, and i also do have to compliment Nicole for her wonderful work with the make-up. Within half an hour we had lots of good shots. Decided to share this one with SC and am curious to all opinions. Model: Gwendolyn van der Linden Make-up: Nicole Millerson Make-up assistance: Chamara Millerson

Hi all Blanche Marie is an eco resort located deep in the jungle, a true beauty you don't want to miss when visiting Suriname. Magnificent falls as part of the Bakhuys mountain. With it's many wooden cabins and all facilities you'll need it is very popular amongst locals and tourists to enjoy the purity and peacefulness of the Amazon. This image was taken early in the morning just after Sunrise. Cheers! .

Hi fellow photographers & visitors. It's been two years now since i discovered the benefits of natural dark fresh water. With its cola like color, the reflection is like one giant mirror. Can you imagine the possibilities? Thus my quest began, in search of simplicity and originality, something i have never seen anywhere else. "The sky is the limit!" for me reflects the capability each of us holds. We all have something to offer to the world. Results count and actions speak louder then words. I froze this action with a rotation of 180 ° to enhance composition. Why not? After all...... the Sky's the limit!

The Dolphin program by Green Heritage Fund Suriname gatheres data about this specific kind of Dolphins. They have a pink belly and can swim in sea water but also in sweetwater (river). One Sunny morning I boarded a small boat called a "korjaal" with the expedition team that colects the data each week. We spotted about 30 Dolphins or more in the Suriname river.

I had to do a covershoot for Hindu Life Magazine and they choose this one for their cover. Many nationalities are so typical Surinamese, like the indigineous people, the maroons, the chinese, the creol, the hindustanies, the dutch, the libanese, etc etc and of course all the beautiful mixtures of very unique combinations. We are all petals of one flower blooming together in this tropical part of the world..

Hi fellow shutterchancers and visitors, I am a bit bussy with some photo projects but didn't want to keep you waiting so here it is. An old photograph taken in 2007. A colorfull exotic flower and family of the Palulu. These flowers just grow in the wild, but are becoming more populair these days and even exported to other countries. The colors in the background and the colors of the flower itself attracted me. Enjoy it and have a nice day.

Meet the passionate Ananta. Ananta is a multi-talented girl. She plays various instruments, does very well in school, dances folklore Indian, ballet and is socially very active for her age. There is much more to be said about her activities, interests and passions, but I leave that part for the magazines who already have interviewed her. It has to be said that her lovely mother is her inspiration. She is the drive, the push, the voice which directs her to the limits of the sky.. Soon she will be off for study in the Netherlands. I wish her a save journey and good luck! A promising young talent and hope one day she will make significant positive changes in Suriname for ALL its people and of course the world.. We're all proud of you Ananta, keep it up!

Blue... Most commonly found in the Natural Rain Forest of Suriname. I believe this particular butterfly, the Morpho Menelaus, is exported from Suriname to Europe, the Americas and Australia. They are transported in boxes still in the state of a soft shell cocoon. These bunch of strikingly blue sparks cruise the fresh air beneath the high Amazon trees. It seems even in the jungle you can enjoy some good old fashion blues ;)) Enjoy and have a productive day! Did you know about 85% of Suriname is still Untouched Rain Forest ? Photograph has not been colormanaged. These butterflies are really blue as illustrated in the photograph.
