Eyes of Prayer

Paul Woei - a Famous Surinamese Scuptor and Painter - , once explained to me that in order to enter the intimate space of a person, you'd have to seek the level of the soul…

Also inspired by Johannes Vermeer -Famous Dutch Painter- I started doing a series of 'intimate portraits'. This portrait is my own modern version. In this shoot I was content about the "intimate level" and put the emphasisis on Vanessa's beautiful Eyes. You may discover for yourself how I did that so any comment on this matter is most welcome.

Overexposure seemed logical, and in balance, for me  because the eye on the right side of the photograph are accentuated. Even the tiny dot at the end of her mouth is carefully emphasized due to high contrast. The deliberate white surroundings ' make this possible.

A Special thank you to Paul Woei, Vanessa and Sunil.
